Why I’m Running: A Campaign for Real People

When I decided to step forward and run for office, it wasn’t because I wanted a title or to see my name on a ballot. It was because I’ve lived the struggles that so many people in our district are facing — and I know what it means to feel like the system has passed you by.

I grew up in rural Alabama, so far out in the country that power lines hadn’t even reached our home yet. For a time, my family lived without electricity. That experience didn’t make me bitter — it made me resilient. It taught me the importance of community, of helping your neighbor, of making the most of what you have. Those lessons have never left me.

Today, I see families here in Colorado facing challenges that are different, but just as real: the rising cost of housing, the struggle to access healthcare and mental health resources, and the feeling that leadership is out of touch with everyday people. And I see my own story reflected in those struggles.

A Campaign for Real People

This campaign is not about partisanship. It’s not about political games. It’s about people — you, your family, your neighbors, and your future.

  • If you’ve ever worried about how you’ll keep a roof over your head, this campaign is for you.

  • If you’ve ever sat awake at night wondering how to get help for a loved one struggling with mental health, this campaign is for you.

  • If you’ve ever felt like politicians talk past you instead of to you, this campaign is for you.

I’m not here to be above the people. I’m here to stand alongside you.

I want to hear from you. Your voice matters, and your experiences are what will shape the priorities of this campaign.

👉 Take a moment and think about this:

  • What’s the biggest challenge your family is facing right now?

  • What’s one thing you wish your leaders would listen to more closely?

You don’t have to keep those answers to yourself. I invite you to share them with me — comment below, send me a message, or reach out on the contact page. My team and I read every single message, and we carry your stories with us on this journey.

I believe leadership should be about listening first, then acting with compassion and courage. Too many people feel like their struggles are invisible. I know what that feels like — and I want to change it.

Running for office is not about me, it’s about us. It’s about building a future where no one feels left behind, no matter where they live, who they are, or what challenges they face.

Together, we can make that future a reality.

If you’re ready to be part of a campaign built on real people and real solutions, I invite you to join me. Volunteer, share your story, or simply spread the word. Every step forward brings us closer to the Colorado we all deserve.
