I’m Not Waiting for Permission to Fight for You

Here’s something most candidates won’t say out loud: They’re waiting to get elected before they start fighting.
I’m not.
I didn’t spend years writing nearly 400 pages of legislation so it could sit in a drawer until after Election Day. I wrote it because Colorado families are struggling right now. Because people are choosing between medication and rent right now. Because workers are watching automation and AI reshape their jobs right now.
Leadership doesn’t start when you get a title. It starts when you see a problem—and do the work to fix it.
That’s what I’ve been doing.
The Work Has Already Started...
While I’m out collecting signatures and knocking doors in House District 23, I’m also doing the work I intend to bring to the State House on Day One.
Fighting for economic security.I wrote the Colorado Economic Security & AI Workforce Transition Act (CESA)—nearly 400 pages of complete, ready-to-introduce legislation. It covers universal healthcare, AI workforce protection, affordable life insurance, and healthy food access. Not slogans. Not bullet points. Actual law.
Fighting for transparency.I’m breaking down every part of CESA publicly—on video, in plain language, answering real questions. If I can’t explain my policy clearly before the election, I don’t deserve your vote after it.
Fighting for Colorado families—not someday, but now. Most campaigns sell promises. I’m showing receipts. The work is already done. What’s left is deciding whether Colorado is ready to act on it.
Why I’m Fighting This Hard...
Let me be direct with you.
I grew up in rural Alabama, far enough out that for a time my family lived without electricity. I know what it feels like when the system forgets about you—when “help is coming” never actually comes.
Today, I see that same reality here in Colorado:
A teacher paying hundreds every month for health insurance with a deductible so high she avoids going to the doctor. A worker watching AI systems get installed at their job, knowing their position won’t exist in a few years—and there’s no safety net. A parent choosing between paying rent on time or buying groceries. A veteran being told “we can’t afford that” while billions flow elsewhere.
When I see that and do nothing, I’m part of the problem.
So I did something. I wrote the bill. Then I decided to fight to make it real.
What “Ready to Serve” Actually Means
Most candidates campaign on what they plan to do.
I already did the work.
“Ready to serve” doesn’t mean I’ll figure it out after I win.It means the policy is written, the funding is mapped, the details are public—and I’m ready to introduce it.
That’s the difference.
Want to See the Work for Yourself?
If you want to understand exactly what I’m proposing—and why—I’ve made everything public.
You’ll find:
Clear explanations of all seven pillars of CESA
How universal healthcare would actually work in Colorado
What AI workforce protection looks like before jobs disappear
How state life insurance saves families thousands
Straight answers about cost, implementation, and TABOR compliance
No gatekeeping. No insiders-only briefings. Just the work.
What I’m Asking From You Right Now
If you believe Colorado deserves leadership that shows up prepared, here’s how you can help today.
1. Sign My Petition
I need signatures to get on the ballot.
If you’re a registered Democrat in House District 23 (Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Applewood, Mountain View), reach out directly:

That’s my personal email and cell phone. I’ll come to you, or we’ll meet somewhere convenient.
2. Watch One Video
You don’t have to watch them all. Start with one. Decide for yourself whether this is the kind of representation HD-23 deserves.
The Promise I’m Making to HD-23
Whether you vote for me or not, whether you agree with every part of CESA or just some of it—I will fight for you.
I will fight for universal healthcare, so no one has to choose between getting care and going broke. I will fight for AI workforce protection, so innovation doesn’t mean devastation for workers. I will fight for affordable life insurance, so financial security isn’t reserved for the wealthy. I will fight for healthy food access, so nutrition isn’t determined by income.
And I will do that work whether I have the seat or not—because leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about responsibility.
One Last Thing
If you’re reading this thinking, this doesn’t sound like a normal campaign—you’re right.
Typical campaigns produce typical results. Colorado doesn’t need more of the same.
We don’t need half-measures or vague promises. We need real policy, written in full, and the courage to pass it.
That’s what CESA is. That’s what this campaign is about.
I’m maveriQ B Jackson—lowercase m, uppercase Q—because it’s not where you start that matters, it’s where you finish.
The election is June 30, 2026.But the fight started long before that.
And it won’t stop until Colorado works for everyone.
Let’s do this together.
